Yesterday the kids decided to have a lemonade stand at the front of our driveway. They put signs up all around the neighborhood. Hubby went and bought hot dogs and was prepared to cook them on the BBQ for anyone who wanted a hot dog with their lemonade. The kids also set up games. Basketball toss, soccer shot, and a couple more with stuffed animals as prizes. It was a beautiful day. They had the music going, the sun was shining. Every poor soul who walked or drove by was shouted at, "hot dogs...lemonade for sale!". By the end of the day they had made $6.00. They were packing up and one old man pulled up in a van. "Did you make any money?" he asked. "Not really" said the kids. The man bought a glass of lemonade. The price was .50 cents. He had E hold out her hands and he dumped a pile of change into them. "Thank you, Bye bye" he said as he drove off. When the money was counted, this man paid $14.00 for a glass of lemonade bringing their total profit for the day to $20.00. What an incredibly generous stranger. Thank you Mr. Big Spender. You made the kids day!
