Everyday stuff

I know it's been a while since I've posted. Actually, It's been a while since anything I've written hasn't gotten lost after clicking the publish button. But all that stuff seems like old news now anyway. You didn't miss much. So here's the update:

I have a new car. It was my Grandma's. She won it about 5 or 6 years ago on a two dollar ticket. She is unable to drive it (although she thinks she can) and can really use the money from the sale. Hubby and I have already kinda argued over who gets to take the car and who gets stuck with the van.

The she-ex bought our car from us and is being incredibly nice. I can't say anything bad or sarcastic about her right now. She was even seen at the school today talking with me as if I'm worthy of being in the little "mom clique". Okay...just read that back. That was a little sarcastic. It's a hard habit to break.

The kids pretty much enjoyed their first day of school. R had homework already tonight. I've been sensing some attitude from him ever since we told him about the baby. I asked him tonight how he felt about it. He told me that if it's a boy, then he won't be my best boy anymore and he's afraid that he won't get enough attention. I tried to reassure him. Hope I said the right things.

The house is a mess and I just can't seem to get motivated enough to pick up a broom or a bottle of Windex. People seem to keep stopping by though, so I really should get on that before I completely embarrass myself. Maybe tomorrow after work, homework and grocery shopping. I've also been meaning to pick up a phone and call Christine to see how she's making out in her new home far away. Hey girl, I've been thinking of you.

And finally, today is my little brother's birthday. He's almost thirty and still not married. I don't know why....He has an amazing (and very patient) girlfriend who is already a part of our family. Geez....he's not even engaged yet! We were at their home the other day and he has a picture of his motorcycle prominently placed in the living room. I love ya Phil, but that just ain't right. Happy birthday lil' bro. I'll stop calling ya that when you get yourself a wife. Deal? Hugs* All in good fun.
