Good will to all men (and bitter ex's)

The she-ex threw a fit last night. She decided that even though it was our year to have the kids on Christmas day that she was just going to keep Emily anyway. She yelled at Hubby in our driveway, then when he called her later to discuss it, she hung up on him several times like a spoiled child. Finally, we got through and had an hour and a half argument on the phone with her. She kept saying that this was her favourite holiday and that Christmas means so much to her and that's why she should have Emily every Christmas morning! Like the world revolves around her and what she wants. Like everyone in the country celebrates Christmas because of her!

I was really proud of Hubby though. With some not so gentle coaching from me, he persisted and didn't give in to her temper tantrum. He stayed calm, tried to keep the conversation on track and eventually WON THE ARGUMENT!!!! Woo Hoo! One for the good guys! So, Emily will wake up with us Christmas morning just as planned. The she-ex will take her for a few hours in the afternoon - but hey - we're all about compromise. :)

I'm finally excited about Christmas.
