Xmas

The kids Christmas - oh, excuse me, Holiday concert was nice. It was short and sweet with lots of cute little songs that are still stuck in my head. As much as I enjoyed it, I found it lacked something. The kids sang about Kwanza and Hanukkah. They sang about the holiday lights. There was no mention of Baby Jesus or even of Santa. (sorry...didn't mean to put them in the same category) I just found it weird that they chose NOT to call it Christmas and went to such great lengths not to offend a few people. One of Kianna's best friends parents are Jehovah Witnesses. This little girl doesn't participate in any holiday celebrations and is not allowed to attend birthday parties - however...The holiday concert was vague enough I guess that they allowed her to participate this year.

While they danced around the true meaning of Christmas in attempt to not offend anyone, I myself, felt a bit offended that they took Christ completely out of Christmas. But I guess, that's the way that things are going around here. So, whatever the holidays mean to you - whether it be marrying your lesbian lover or having friends over to gather 'round a giant bong - happy holidays. As for me, you can just wish me a Merry Christmas. Thanks.
