IT

The job's going well. My boss told me today that she liked the way I work - whatever that means. The people there seem pretty nice. It's a pretty relaxed atmosphere. I'm just waiting to see someone wear jeans because as soon as I know it's okay, that'll be my new "uniform"! I'm working six hours a day which is just perfect. I love it! My only complaint is that the chair I have to sit on is way uncomfortable.

Actually, I have one other complaint...well, It's more like a pet peeve. How hard is it to spell my name? I know Janet is not a super common name, but it's not like nobody's heard it before or seen it in print. At various points in my life, people have written my name with an i instead of an e. I once threatened to break up with a boyfriend unless he could learn how to spell my name. I later divorced him for different reasons.

My boss wrote me a note yesterday. Janit, please enter these forms. I took her for an intelligent woman. Being my first day, I didn't bother saying anything about it. Then, just as I was leaving yesterday, I saw my name again spelled with an i. This is from the woman who has stressed to me over and over again that accuracy is so important. If I see it again, I will politely correct her. J-A-N-E-T people! Janet - not Jan it. Thank you. I am done.
