Graduation
What a nice day it was today. Christine and Tammy came over, we went for lunch and then Tammy got busy cutting everybody's hair. Tam, We really have to get together more often.
This evening was my son's grade six graduation ceremony. The teachers put a lot of thought and effort into it and made it a memorable night. Randy's teacher did a little speech about each of the students. This is what he had to say about my sweetie:
Now Randy is a young man with some very amazing talents. When running, he's like the Energizer bunny. He just keeps going and going and going until his 100 laps for walk, jog and run are complete and then he runs home to do his papers. I think James hit the nail on the head when he nicknamed Randy the crazy runner.
If you ask me, Randy is the hardest working student in this school.
I remember questions that plagued me after reading Randy's first journal entry. The topic was My best day and Randy wrote how his best day was when his Dad taught him the beats. My questions were answered however at the talent show when he was elevated to rock star status for his incredible ability to play the drums.
While he aspires to be an architect, Randy says that music will always be a major part of his life. Well, Randy, When you hit the bigtime and you're on your first concert tour, I'm hoping that you can hook me up with some front row seats.
Whatever you choose as your future occupation, your dedication and never quit attitude will carry you far. In the words of Elvis Huxley, "After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible, is music". Congratulations.
