Making Lemonade

When life gives you lemons......

I have a friend who is so incredibly strong. I admire her for the way she's been able to keep it together through the toughest of times. I was speaking with her this morning and was at a loss for words. I have no advise to give. I wish that I could be helpful and come up with a solution to her problem(s) but all that I can do is tell her that she's doing an amazing job and playing very well the hand she's been dealt.

I keep thinking of the Bible verse that says that God will not give us more than we can bear. (Or something like that) People used to say that to me when I was going through difficult times. I remember those words were of no comfort to me back then. That's why I couldn't say them to my friend. But I keep thinking that nobody else could handle the situation with as much grace as she has. And although she's been pushed to the edge - I know she won't go over.

I attempted to look up the actual Bible verse (I seem to be a bit rusty in that area). All that I could find was 1 Corinthians 10:13. Somehow, I don't think that it's the one that I was looking for, but it is similar:

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

So, Friend, (You know who you are) Although I can not give you an answer as to what you should do right now, I do know that you will find a way to get through it and that you will come out of this a stronger and better person. And it may be of no comfort to you right now, but I feel that you were chosen specifically for this role because YOU CAN AND WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
