Model Child

K had her hair and make-up professionally done yesterday. The results were beautiful. She's been offered her first job and is really excited.

There were plenty of tears this morning, however, when her pet guinea pig was found dead in its cage. R.I.P Sparkles.

if that were MY 11 year old, that hair and make up professional would be getting shot. ;)

I don't have a problem with her hair and make up. Yes, she looks older than she is, but they kept everything very neutral and soft. She's not all vamped out or showing any skin. The clothes are hers. She wears them to school. It's all very HER.

except that she looks WAY older than 11, and i'd be mighty uncomfortable asking "why" they would do that.

it isn't always about being vampy or showing skin. i am totally against little girls being made to look older, especially to sell something.

does she look beautiful? absolutely. so does jordie when she does her hair and make up, which is why i turn her butt around and make her wash it off.

heh.

Wow, that is just like life. Sometimes things are going great and then another bad thing can happen. It's kind of a theme on blogs lately. I hope she is okay. I remember the first time I had a really great day and started feeling grownup. Then something terrible happened and I realized I could never be a child again. But, it's not what happens to you in life. It's how you react to it that matters.
