I just spent the night reading and deleting many of my old blog posts due to the fact that someone I've frequently ranted about in the past has just discovered the internet.
A lot of my old posts were pretty good (if I do say so myself). Recently, I haven't been writing much. I'd like to start again. So I've decided to write every day just to get back into the swing of it - Even if all I say is that I went to work and it was cold outside.
So....Today (technically yesterday as it's past midnight) was my daughters 12th birthday. She is amazing. I am so proud of her and wish I was more like her. Besides the inability to keep her room clean or be on time for anything, she's a pretty great kid. We celebrated with her friends by having a party at the local movie theatre. Slightly expensive but totally worth it because I didn't have to clean my house for a bunch of kids on a sugar high. Later, Hubby and I went shopping for more electronics to complete our newly furnished living room.
Also this weekend, E. had a major life moment and chose to invite her mother over at 11 p.m. to deal with it instead of coming to me. As much as I understand her wanting her mother, it hurt that she didn't ask me for help.
I did not go to work today, but it was cold outside.
See you tomorrow.

okay, i'll ask the obvious question: how did E invite her mother over at 11pm? did she use the telephone? is that allowed? if jordie called her father or dylan his mom, i would HOPE the other parent would have the common sense to not just come to my house at nearly midnight..
you're a way better person than i am!
She calls her mother about 6 times a day - no exageration! I tried to put a stop to it, but her mother basically told her to ignore me and to call any time.
E. and her mom are very dependant on each other.
It was one of those times that a girl really needs her mom. I guess step-mom isn't good enough.
One word sums up my feelings on the matter: WHATEVER!
