Pioneer Times

Today I accompanied Kianna on her class trip to an old pioneer school. We spent the day as if we were in the year 1908. (except for the central heating and the electric lights) All the kids dressed up in pioneer outfits. I did my best to look the part with a long skirt and a shawl around my shoulders. Would you believe I forgot my camera??? Well, sadly, I did. The day though was fun even though we spent much of it outside in the freezing rain. We were not allowed to slouch, we had to stand to answer questions and we had to call the teacher ma'am. I was playing the part of a grade 8 student and answered all my arithmetic questions correctly on my slate. (I was the only adult - including the kids teacher that got them all right) It was a fun day. Kianna was happy to have me there and that's all that matters. I'm happy though to come back to 2005 now that our indoor plumbing is fixed and I can sit down and blog while watching Shrek on our new TV. Life is good.
