It's been two weeks since my last post. Our "good" computer is having a problem accepting cookies so I have to use the ancient, slow machine in my son's room to blog. Still - I know - No excuse. Soooo.....Lots has happened since I last typed my story....
The he-ex didn't put up as much of a fight as I thought he would two weekends ago. He seemed more sad and broken than angry. On Saturday at 2 pm. he called me and told me that since he couldn't get a ride from anyone to visit his kids, that he was going to ride his bike to our house. I figured that it would take him about 3 hours. He thought 5. He arrived in 4. I talked to Hubby about it and we decided that the he-ex could set up the tent in our backyard and he could camp out there with the kids. They all rode their bikes out to dinner on Saturday night and for lunch on Sunday. It worked out pretty well. I did overhear him saying some stuff about me to the kids, but the kids handled it well.
For the past two weeks, I've been working three days a week and when at home, I've been busy painting and wallpapering. The bathroom downstairs is starting to come together. It's going to be nice. Hubby was speaking to our neighbours two doors down. They bought their house a year ago and it's in really bad shape, but they paid almost 20 thousand more than we did for our house! That means that our house has increased in value quite a bit in three years and with our newly finished basement, It will be worth even more. - Not that we're thinking of selling any time soon.
This weekend, my former inlaws drove the whole way from their farm to our house for the first time to pick up the kids. Once again, they picked up their son and all his belongings and are attempting to move him away from Hamilton. The kids were excited to show Grandma and Grandpa their bedrooms and all of their special things. Today, I'm driving up to the new farm to pick up the kids. It was nice to be invited to do so. My former MIL told me that (although she'd never say this in front of her son) she was relieved to hear that I refused to allow the children to stay in Hamilton. She said that I was doing the right thing.
Our lawyer is now finally, completely paid! Can I hear a Hallelujah? It appears that I won't have to go to court after all to enforce my rules about where the he-ex can have his visitation. He's in no shape to fight with me right now and it doesn't look like he intends to.
I can't believe that it's October already! Where has the time gone? Only one month left 'till Phil and Jayme's wedding. Only one month left 'till my self-imposed pregnancy deadline. And I was just informed yesterday that there's only one week left until Thanksgiving! Turkey anyone??? I can't volunteer because my oven doesn't work. We have to order a $200 part. Everything lately has been fried, nuked or prepared fresh by a teenager in a uniform.
So that's about it I think. Once I'm able to blog from the other station, I'll post some pics of our new bathroom. L8r Sk8r
